A KEY POINT FOR SUCCESSFUL SEEDING
EBRA Distributor Discs
A complete range for an unequalled versatility for sowing small and large seeds, BARE OR COATED
The distributor disc is of course an essential part of the seeding precision. At EBRA, instead of the plastic used on cheap brands, we have chosen aluminum discs. Even the thinnest discs (those used for small seeds) do not deform: even the smallest seeds cannot get behind the disc.
A noble material
Most of EBRA distributor discs are in aluminium : accuracy and long lifetime guarantee !
Even custom made
For your very specific requirements, we can manufacture tailor-made discs.
Discs for exceptional versatility !
Distributor discs are available for an incredible number of seeds. From the smallest seeds (parsley, carrot) to the largest (large beans and even small bulblets), from the most regular (peas or round beans) to the most difficult to sow (parsnips, scorzonera or broad beans), EBRA seeders sow almost all seeds, bare or coated.
You can also choose a disc that sorts several seeds at once and sows in pockets. Another EBRA advantage for sowing just the way you like it.

Understand the name of the disk
Understanding the names of the discs will help you better select and use your discs.
The first number indicates the number of teeth, holes or lugs on the disc. The higher this number, the denser the seed will be. For example : 40 teeth on the 40 P1 disc.
The middle letter refers to the type of disk.
A : with large notches
B : with round holes
F : bean discs
M : star-shaped
OC : bulblets discs
P : with notches
R : with lugs
T with oblong holes
example : the 40 P1 disc is a notched disk
The final number means, depending on the model, the thickness of the disc or the diameter of the holes.
example : the 40 P1 disc is 1 mm thick at the outer diameter.

How to choose your discs
The table below provides guidance on which discs you need. For some crops, you have a choice: you can select a specific disc (which will be very effective for this seed) but not versatile (because it has been especially designed for this seed), or a more versatile disc, but which will be slightly less accurate for this seed. Most of the time, our market gardeners customers use 1 to 6 discs for their sowing.

Table of discs
TYPE OF CULTURE | Low to medium density | Medium to high density | Pockets | INFORMATION |
---|---|---|---|---|
PEANUT | 8 A13 | |||
OAT | 24-P4 or 32-P6 if the seeds are small | 24-P6 | The disc picks up several seeds at once, but suits for sowing oat. | |
BASIL | 40 PEP | 40-P1E (or 40 P1 for really dense sowing) | ||
BEET fodder | 24 B7 | 33-B8,5 | Due to the irregularity of beet seed size, the disc references are given as a guide. The last figure of the reference of the disc indicates the size of the hole in mm. It is thus necessary to take the largest seeds of the batch to be sown and to add 1 mm to determine the reference of the disc to use. | |
BEET red | 24-B6 | 33-B6 | Due to the irregularity of beet seed size, the disc references are given as a guide. The last figure of the reference of the disc indicates the size of the hole in mm. It is thus necessary to take the largest seeds of the batch to be sown and to add 1 mm to determine the reference of the disc to use. | |
BEET glomerula | 24 B6 to 24 B9 depending on seed size | 33-B8,5 | Due to the irregularity of beet seed size, the disc references are given as a guide. The last figure of the reference of the disc indicates the size of the hole in mm. It is thus necessary to take the largest seeds of the batch to be sown and to add 1 mm to determine the reference of the disc to use. Example : the largest seeds are 6 mm in diameter, please select disc 24 B7 (small to medium density) or 33 B7 (high density). | |
WHEAT | 32 P6 | 24 P4 | The 24 P4 disc takes several seeds at once to get a higher seeding density. | |

For larger batches, 40 P1 or even 40 P2 may be required. For sowing on 8 cm (3 in) wide stripe (seeds randomly distributed within the stripe) , please select a disc ensuring a higher density (40 P1, 40 P2 even 40 P4). | |
